Automotive Industry - Launch of New Clusters on Vehicle Servicing

With effect from 3 July 2023, the following 4 new clusters of Automotive Industry are launched:

  1. Vehicle Servicing (Mechanical Services) (Level 3)
  2. Vehicle Servicing (Electrical Services) (Level 3)
  3. Vehicle Servicing (Body Repair) (Level 3)
  4. Vehicle Servicing (Body Painting) (Level 3)

 

Vehicle mechanics registered under the Voluntary Registration Scheme for Vehicle Mechanics (VRSVM) of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) can choose to obtain the related Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) qualification(s) without assessments or without paying assessment fees when they apply for renewal of the VRSVM.  Interested parties may visit the EMSD website for details and submit the specified application form to VTC via EMSD during the renewal of VRSVM.

Vehicle mechanics who have not registered or whose VRSVM registrations are not yet due for renewal can obtain the relevant RPL qualification(s) through assessment(s). Successful applicants may apply to EMSD for registration as vehicle mechanics in their respective area(s).

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in Hairdressing Industry Arrangement of International Certification for Hairdressing Techniques & Management Composite Qualification

Due to the ipsn cease of operations, candidates passing the RPL Hairdressing Techniques & Management Composite Qualification before 30 Nov 2021 will still be awarded the ipsn Certificate. The application deadline is 30 Oct 2021.

Applications for the RPL Hairdressing Techniques & Management Composite Qualification after 1 Dec 2021 and passed will only receive the “Certificate of Occupational Skill Level” of the Mainland and the “Vocational Assessment Competency Certificate” of Hong Kong.

Reminder: Enhancement Measures of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Support Scheme

● Those who successfully applied for RPL on or before 30 November 2019* and thereafter obtained the Statement of Attainment (SOA), please submit applications for reimbursement of RPL assessment fees on or before 30 November 2021. Late applications will not be accepted.

From 1 December 2019*, all successful RPL applicants can apply for full reimbursement of assessment fees in a lump sum after obtaining the Statement of Attainment (SOA). All applications should be submitted within two years from the date of issuance of SOA. Late applications will not be accepted.

*It refers to the date applicants submit RPL application forms to assessment agencies or the postmark date on envelope.
